    TT Smackdown Pro

Has anyone received or shot the new TT smackdown pro yet? I have 2 of them coming on wednesday and hope to give a quick review once I get them set up. Look forward to the totally full containment, and the lighter weight body.
If you have shot this rest already, post up!

I've all but given up on TT this year...I waited & waited on the Smackdown Pro and finally gave up and started running the Hamskea VersaRest. I love TT's stuff but every time I called to check on stuff I got the run around and never a solid date on anything. I doubt I even bother trying to get any Edge heads this year to hunt with, I'll just shoot something else.

I hear you on the Smackdown...I went Hamskea as well. But I have seen Ulmer Heads in some of the shops so you should be able to get a pack of those. Bull Basin Archery in Flagstaff, AZ had like 3 or 4 packs of them on the wall a couple weeks ago.

I want a Hamskea rest sooooo bad....

But my pockets are rather shallow these days. Those look nice. Almost pulled the trigger.

I am also waiting for my TT to arrive with my new Lethal Force. I'm pumped!

Ok so here it is. Popped the package open and took out the parts and everything is the same for set-up as the original smackdown. Only difference is the limb attachments have a new nonslip rubber on the attachment vs. the old stick on that slid on the limbs. Mounted the rest and eyeballed everything tonight for a quick review. Shot thru paper and it was very close. Did I mention how quiet it was yet? if not it is very quiet. Overall weight is less than the original, less bulk. The entire cage body is rubber coated with a cushiony give to help deaden the sound. The body which holds the brissels is a hardened plastic and appears very durable. The brissels are just shy of 1/2" long and give plenty of room to slide your arrow in the same way as you would a whisker biscuit. This is very nice if you have a low setting sight so you dont have to slide the arrow in thru the back of the rest. The rest looks so much smaller in size to the original, but overall is not that much different, just apperars that way. Did I forget to say how quiet this rest is? Oh thats right I did.
All the mechanics of this rest work very well and as norm with TT the rest it built tough. Vane clearance is a non-issue, plenty of room.
Only negative that I could find in the rest as of 50 shots is that while in the field if you were to twist your bow around and got the arrow swinging in the containment area it will pop thru the brissels, but that is only when it is moving pretty good.
I do like the rest and will be leaving it on my bow. Did I mention it is also quiet:)
Here are some photo's comparing it to the original.

At rest, is it still quiet if you jostle the bow around a little with the arrow nocked?

My apache didnt make any noise, but it was on the heavy side. If its quieter than that, thats a plus

Nice review. Will be interested to hear how they compare with the 2012 Limb Driver Pro V rests?

    Hoppy,

Is that an Answer you have the OLD TT mounted to?

Don't mean to jack, just curious. When did you get it out of curiosity?

Not an Answer but a Pure. Suprised nobody noticed the prime Ti-glide for the cable rod.
