    Bowtech CPXL has arrived.....

Well after a long wait, my new Bowtech CPXL has arrived.
The dealer called and I will be on my way to pick her up sooooon (stupid work)
The bow is coming all Black and I will be setting it up for a 30" DL and 70lb DW.
As soooon as I can I will start posting my findings and do a review of what I think about it.

I am curious how the CPX shoots compared to the CPXL?

Other than ATA, brace height, and draw lengths will the CPXL be smoother or the same? The CPXL appears to be just a tad slower than the CPX.

Just curious what are the reasons to pick one over the other if your DL is in that 29" range

The CPXL felt smoother to me.....Probably because at 29" (the draw they are shipped in) the cams on the CPXL are not rotated nearly as far as the CPX is at the same DL....

That makes sense to me. I currently have the CPX, I like it a lot, but I dont shoot it as well as my other 7in BH bows. I was just curious if I go ahead and get the CPXL if it would shoot "differently" than the CPX.

Sorry, didnt mean to hijack this thread. Just seems like a good place to ask Insanity questions.

I agree with enkriss. Not sure why but I also felt the draw in on the CPXL was much smoother than the CPX. I would have to say between the longer ATA and the 7"BH it should be a more forgiving bow to shoot making it seem more accurate. This of course being my opinion.

Well I finally got some pics for you guys and my first impressions of the bow.
    1. The bow has no visable machining marks or flaws and appears to be put together fairly well.
    2. The finish (paint) is good but I am not a big fan of it. It is a rougher finish than what I am used to. More like a primer finish. Not bad just different.
    3. The riser at the handle is HORRIBLE!!!! There is a ridge that rubs hard on my hand at the second knuckle on my thumb. If I really enjoy shooting this bow, I will end up taking the Dremel Tool to this ridge to round it out. I am not sure if this will affect everyone that shoots these bows but it sure bothers me the way I grip the bow along with the large size of my hands.
Now straight out of the box here is what I found:
A-A was 35 1/8" on the shelf side of the riser and 35 3/16" on the other.
    BH is 7 1/4"
DW is 69.2 and the Birth Cert says 72
Once on the draw board I found the bottom cam was hitting just a little later than the top cam. This caused me to have to take one half a twist out of the cam for the bottom cam.
The string stopper was pushing very hard against the string so I had to re-adjust it.
There is almost no cam lean on this bow either at rest or at full draw.
I have drawn the bow but not shot it yet. I need to head to the range tonight to shoot and finish the set up.

I didn't even notice that on the CPX until you mentioned it. I haven't felt it on my hand though.

At the ATA show we had 4/5 of us that felt the CPXL was a touch smoother than the CPX, BUT also had a little more spongy wall...

I love the way the CPXL shoots.

I never even noticed that ridge you mentioned. I have torqueless side plates on mine seems much more comfortable than the stock plates....

There are 2 things that bother me about the bow.....

The stock strings on my bow were to long and just horrific!

The limb finish almost completely peeled off the underside of my top limb from hanging it on the peg at the range...

Other than that i like everything about the bow but those two things really erk me!
