    Montec vs Hellrazor

I have been shooting Montecs for a few years now, they are sharp and with my set up fly like my field points. Every animal I have taken with them were pass throughs with large entry and exit wounds. I have read quite a few threads (mostly on AT) about Hellrazors being alot sharper but not flying as well as the Montec. The only time I have damaged a Montec was a pass through on a hog that hit a big rock. I can't see myself using anything but a Montec but am curious about the Hellrazor. Anyone used Hellrazors? Are they really that sharp and how do they fly?

I've never used Hellrazors, but with the way the Montec's are performing for you, I'd stick with them.

I am not changing broadheads I just wanted someones honest opinion about the hellrazor, seems like alot of people on "other" forums like to talk up a product they use regardless of how it really performs.

My son got some Hellraiser b/h last week and they are awsome. Looks like they should sharpen a little easier. Just my .02 cents

I have been shooting Montec's since they first came out. They are a great broadhead and there wouldn't be much that i would swap them for. That was until they (G5) came out with the Striker BH, which i was fortunate enough to shoot last year while in Iowa. I know your intent is not to switch BH's but these Strikers are really really sweet. They are the sharpest thing i have ever taken out of the box and they fly exceptionally well.

    Give'em a try!!!
    Good luck...

I too have been shooting Montecs since they came out and have never had any thing but the highest praise for them. Why even look at another broadhead I keep telling myself ?? and yet... I did buy some Strykers for some reason. They're just as dang good as the Montecs and maybe, just maybe, they might fly even better if thats possible. Also I've never had any issue sharpening the Montecs to a great edge but those Strykers..Yikes!! look out!! Get the kids inside now!! I shot them in a hard wind yesterday and compared to the Montecs they were hitting the center of target quite a bit better so there was obviously less wind planng with them. Think I'll keep my Montecs for elk this season and then put on some Strykers for mulies which tend to be more open country critters.

I wll concur about the Strikers. Very sharp blades and very good flight. I have yet to take an animal with them but I hope that changes this season. I have a lot of confidence that they will perform well in the field. Ferrule also appears real strong.

The only change I am considering is a expandable for wound size, not filght performance. I am real curious about those Piston Points but at $38.00/three heads that's pretty steep !!!!!

I use tekan II, I think they are awsome broad heads... They fly exactly like my field points. I'v only taken a black bear with them so far but the penetration of these things are unreal. Made a poor first shot on my bear ended up a spine shot, the broad head blew through one side of the spin and lodged half way out the other side, with one blade completly buried on the spine. Heres a couple of pictures
