Thinking about learning a new language

In the never ending quest to expand my horizons I think I want to learn a new language. Was debating German! How many of you speak a different language and which ones should I stay away from so I don't get too frustrated lol?

Three most common languages in the world today

    1. Japanese (many different dialects)
    2. Spanish ( many different dialects)
    3. English

German isn't in the top 10...

I am fluent in English, hick and kuntry. Yes the last two are totally different dialects so I would call them a different language all together.

I'm with whack on his languages.

I do know some German. It is fairly easy to learn. Latin based I believe.

Mandarin Chinese if you want to be hard core.

Japanese. That's why it is so hard for us westerners to learn!!!

It's also why instruction Manuals are pointless and they don't do any good even if I wanted to use them.
What it is that you say it was?

My work may be offering German or Spanish - the company I work for is German based and I deal with our Mexican plant alot now - so either would work. But i am leaning more toward Spanish. Although It would be nice to know what my german counterparts are saying in our meetings without them knowing that I understand German. Global ecomony now most countries besides that US speak atleast 2 languages.

Isn't that just a mix of French, English and homemade corn liquor??

The most useful language would probably be manadrin chinese or, if you're around any agricultural enterprises (farms, feedlots, slaughterhouses, etc), spanish. BTW, just from being in agriculture, I know that the spanish they teach you in school is A LOT different from what you'll hear in real life (you work at a feedlot and you'll learn several words that they won't teach you in school :D ).

Have to go Spanish if it were me, but it is of practical use down here. Mandarin is actually good because it is the base for a lot of the Chinese dialects same with Latin (which is dead but will provide you with the base as well.)
