I was digging through my Grandma's old stuff when I came across this bow. I haven't used a bow in a few years and never really knew that much about them anyway. Seeing as how this is a forum full of knowledgeable folk I thought you guys might be able to help me figure out what it is and what kind of string I would need to make it work again; if it's even worth it.
Is that your Grandpa's name on the riser? What a find, one heck of a keepsake!
It appears from the markings that it is a 60" recurve with a 26" draw length and a 20# draw weight. That wouldn't be legal for hunting but for no more than a string would cost it would be fun to have set up.
That's perfect for me, I was only intending on using it as a little fun thing to toy around with before I go looking for a decent bow to get into archery.
