I’m about to start a new batch of arrows. It will be my first time and I’ve done a load of homework regarding FOC, weights, spine, etc. my question is about fletching setups with a 3 blade broadhead. I would love to hear real fact base info about the the difference between going with 4 fletchings as opposed to 3 fletchings to stabilize a 3 blade fixed broadhead.
For this build here are my specs:
Mathews Vertix 60#/28”
Easton Hexx arrows cut around 27” - 27.5”
G5 Motec 100gr broadheads
Easton H inserts 50gr
AAE Max Hunter vanes
With those specs if I go with 4 fletchings my FOC will be around 12.4% which I have no problem with. My question is not about FOC percentage but mainly about accuracy effects of 3 or 4 fletchings at distances beyond 40yds.
