Bioinformatician at Washington University in St. Louis. I am one of many that sequence and interpret DNA and RNA for various species including humans for medical research and soon clinical applications. I also perform wet bench work and statistical analysis of microarrays as well. In the genetics world, I am a jack of all trades.......and king of nothing.

I am the Technical Director – Sr. Chemist at MinusNine Technologies.
I run our technical lab in Gurnee, IL. At the same time I’m also technical service and travel around as needed, which usually is far too much.

We are a UV/EB coating and adhesives manufacture. (ultraviolet light or electron beam) Simply put, our coatings do not dry- ever. You need to hit them with either “light” or EB radiation to cure. Most of our products are really just decorative landfill. Labels and printed this or that. Think the real glossy cover of a magazine, that’s a UV coating. Labels on just about everything sold in the grocery store are UV/EB or WB coated. We also make coating for automotive and other industrial uses…and some specialty nano materials.
Sounds boring? It is more stressful than boring actually.

I worked for a couple of billion dollar global chemical mfgs, before resigning and forming our own company a few years ago. It was the most stressful but hopefully rewarding choice I ever made in my life.
    Time will tell.

I hunt, fish, play / coach sports and live for my family and the outdoors. To pay for all that I am an IT manager for a communications company. Still hands on everyday and run a side IT consulting company for small to medium sized businesses.

I would love that...I cannot play with my kids enough, or hunt enough or "bow" enough. My wife calls all that I do ""bow-ing" or "bowtalk-ing"

My kids have finally gotten old enough to participate in a lot that I do. Makes me seem/feel much less selfish and makes all the activities so much more fun. The job is a means and that it.

When I die my company will replace me in a week. My kids wont be able to, just like I can never replace these days with them. Its funny how the wives generally have similar points of view.

I can never get enough of my kids.

I spent twelve years in the Navy, sold lumber as contractor sales, built homes, drove trucks. Worked at Halliburton as a manager over the cementing department, worked on the line at Whirlpool. Now I work for Schlumberger in the fracturing and stimulation department. In my non free time I refinish bows, build strings, create bows for long draw people and now came out of the shadows to build grips, which hopefully will continue to grow and expand so I can do it full time. Trying to get to a point where you can get anything you want done at my shop from hydrographics, powdercoat, annodizing, strings and grips, a true custom shop. Start building and selling some of my ideas instead of letting others do it. I am also a pen and ink artist, along with scrimshaw.
