Gettin excited now! Went back to the field to glass. Bunch of does and fawns, and when I rolled further down, saw a huge bodied deer! Too far to get a good look, all I saw was rack and giant body! Looked like a monster! Same spot I had an encounter with a big 10 last year.

Was up until 12:00 last night tuning up my new arrows. Got the Lumenoks dialed in and the broadheads touched up. Today I was spraying down a few sets of clothes with permethrin. Went a little overboard on the first outfit, lol!

A lot of action last night! Missed two. First must have been 35 yds, & I used 30 yd pin, went right under his belly. Second I made perfect shot, but he did a 180, while jumping the string. At least I got the opening day jitters out of the way! Expensive night though, two lost arrows, no deer!

Had four in the field. Didn't get closer than 60 yds though.

Let the air out of a lil buck yesterday. We're on the board.

Next time you want a "little" one shot, give me directions to where ya hunt.

Thanks fellas. Its a chunk of state land in montana. Its 5 miles of walkin from the road, but its in the center of a giant private ranch between a hayfield and bedding area. In MT its legal to access state land through private, as long as you stay below the high water mark on a navigable river. This was the first time i bowhunted it. I shot a 155 in there with my rifle and saw a half dozen that would clear 160 and one i would guess close to 180. I texted my buddy when i shot mine and when he started to get down he said there was a giant right behind his stand. His bow was still on the hanger.
