I am not that technical when it comes to arrow weight and F.O.C. details. I do understand how important it is to shoot the proper arrow weight for your bow, so it doesn’t damage it. And how much it is a part of generating K.E. for penetration of the arrow. Which I am concerned about for an elk hunt that I have planned. The outfitter says that I may need to take a 50yd shot, if I am comfortable / accurate at that distance. I have not shot my setup through a chrono yet as I don’t know of anyone near me that has one.
I shoot a short arrow (28”) Carbon Express Maxima Hunter 350 with Blazer vanes and 100gr Sonic Pros. My thoughts are, would it be beneficial to “wrap” my arrow shafts for the extra grains? Would the wraps cause problems with them coming off? Do they create issues when shooting through a WB? Should I use the full 6” of wrap or cut them down? Any insight would be great. :???:
