I had to go in for a crossbow test the otherday. My doctor has been nagging me about it for a long time. I guess after giving me 10 cortizone shots in the same arm, he is getting tired of it. Anyway, I failed the test and qualify for a crossbow permit. Still going to shoot the CR 334 as much as I can, and hunt with it to the best of my ability. I have not given up yet on shooting a compound. When I can't shoot the compound I will use the crossbow. I had surgery done on my left elbow a year ago, and it is not the same. I use the wrist down position when I shoot. It really tears at the tendion that they worked on. The Doc even told my wife after the surgery that he could not fix anything, just hoped to lessen the pain that I was in. Anyway, still going to shoot the Ross until the old decepit body gives out for good.

Nope, I am not giving up yet. I plan on going until I can't draw the Ross back anymore.

ive always wondered why they give out x-bow permits based on the notion that you cant pull a bow back but can cock a crossbow... I know about mechanical cockers but its just odd.

Oh well glad youll still be able to hunt during bow season.

it has been done before and could you not go to a lower poundage. what poundage bow are you shooting now.

I know of some pretty old guys hunting with 400 gr arrows at 200 fps second that take deer at 20 yards pretty regular.

I have tried all avenues so far. My doctor has injected me with at least 10 cortisone shots in the right arm. I had surgery done on the left one already. The doctor moved my funny bone nerve because the sheath was rotting off and causing pain. He also had to cut the tendion because it was hanging on by a thread. The right one that I am going to have surgery on next year is worse. The nerve will have to be moved and 2 tendions cut and shortened. This one is going to be a bugger to come back from. I also have diabetes neurapathy of the upper body which causes a loss of strength due to nerve damage, I also have a bad back and a disc shot in my neck. :???: Good thing I have a job sitting on my arse all day, and the heaviest thing I pick up is my coffee cup. Anyway for listening to me whin, time to move on.

Forgot to mention. There is a Stryker at our shop I am looking at. It is one heck of a crossbow for sure. May try shooting it on Tuesday.

holy crap, 405 fps and 155 KE... that thing would punch out mike tyson.

impressive xbow. something that fast you wouldnt have to judge distance until around 45 yds or so.....

the only thing that would suck is cocking that thing...
