Don't know if it's right, but it's working

Dusted off the old PSE again to shoot and try to work on the TP problem. Usually as soon as my finger gets in front of the trigger I'm all over the place. Today I tried something a little different. I drew back, got the pin settled, brought my finger around and applied a little pressure, not enough to set the trigger off but some. Had more than half of my finger across the trigger. I got settled again and then I went as if to try to squeeze out a little more DL and draw back a little more to set the release off. It helped my groups alot, my releases were crisper and the shots "felt" better. And my shots and pins weren't all over the place. I don't know if it's right or what but it sure helped!

The deep hook on the trigger, with the index finger is a good idea (less sensative than the finger tip). If you are thinking "extending my draw length" while aiming, and you are forgetting about the trigger, then you may be on the road with this back tension thing. Keep us posted.
Sounds like a great start :(
I'll work on it a little more extensively when I get the Tribute from Mike! Which should be soon! :(
consider yourself lucky, you stumbled upon a perfect way to use back tension to release your bow. :(

I have the same trouble when I use a caliper release. Thats why I went to a Cascade thumb release.
I have heard of fixing TP problems with taking the sights off of a bow and shooting at a large target face at ten yards.

might help i don't know. the guy that solved his problem with this was scary to watch him shoot. he would almost let down as he would shoot.

how should the tension be set on your release,i can blow on mine and it'll go off,

I like a very heavy trigger on my release. That way I can pre load some pressure and still use back tension to shoot a trigger release.
one tip cougar is when you draw, and go into target panic, see if your breathing remains the same or you tense up and hold your breath.

if you are, breathe normal, stay relaxed by taking normal breaths.

Thanks! I had also thought of this and it helps some too but this new way of releasing helped ALOT!
Finger position on release?

Sounds like you've fiqured out an improvement. Is your release down to the first crease of the finger? I have always shot with the tip of the finger. And it sounds like I would be better to get the release shortened up. And have the trigger into the crease of the finger. What do you all think?
Yeah I have the trigger in the first crease up from where the finger attaches to the hand.
