Four weeks from this morning is opening day for elk here in Wyoming. Man I've been waking up thinking about everyday. I've kept my eye on the elk all summer, cleared trail and brushed up some blinds in June. Now I'll stay away from my honey holes for the month of August. I've taken at least one elk every year for 31 years and I'm still like a kid waiting for christmas. I have it bad. Anyone else?

we leave in exactly 44 days,11 hours 35 minutes and 18 seconds. It will be our first elk hunt. Three of us will be carrying Cardiacs. We are going near saratoga WY with rough country outfitters. Good luck and keep us informed about your hunt.

I have never been Elk hunting but after vacationing in northern Co for the last ten day I think I'll be going soon. Here are a couple of pics of some bulls I came upon.

Good pics, semo. Thanks for sharing. I've never hunted elk either, but it's on the list things I'd like to do.

GOOD LUCK !!!! I have hunted for them twice '04 and '06 in CO. WHAT A BLAST Never got one but will be back. I do have some fun with them here in PA. when they start bugling! The heard here is around 800 and they do have a season but,to me they are not "wild '" enough so I just go out and call them and pratice for my next trip out west.. :(
