Tomorrow morning will find me in a blind on the edge of a field as well!
I am pumped as this will be my first turkey hunt in about 5 years.
My Cardiac will be in the blind with me.
Pictures tomorrow afternoon I hope!
I can only hunt till about 10 am, then i have to go open the shop.
In Iowa, if you hunt with a bow only, you can hunt from April 16th thru May 20th!

Good luck to everyone.

I messed up a 30 yard shot on a nice one this morning. I was using a shotgun and still missed somehow!!!!
doesnt that make you

two years ago i called in a pair of toms for a buddy. we were set up 20yds apart on a field edge.

Saw the birds come in and motioned him to get ready. He was a turkey noob but should have realized birds where coming when i put the gun up. Well they came into him and got 20 yds away when he started to shoulder his shotgun. And well they saw him and he shot but missed. Was kinda funny really watching him run after the birds.

Also that same season i was hunting the ozark hill country and one came up on me too fast and got 10 yds away before i saw him, needless to say he should still be wandering around near the Current River....

Even when you fail turkey hunting you learn something.

MAN I LOVE CHASING JELLY HEADS!

Well, there is always tomorrow! From what I have seen, their memory isn't the best. Maybe he will be back to give you another shot!

You're right about that. They wake up to a whole new world every day.

Here in central MO I've got to hunt two mornings, April 16 and this morning and the birds have been gobbling their heads off on the roost but are as quiet as a mouse when they hit the ground. Won't come to calling either.

Any one else having a lull? :???:
