all right boys post up. I want to see some pics of mature bucks killed using a ground blind and archery equipment. does not have to be a P & Y just aat least 2.5 years old buck.

I don't want to discredit blind hunting i just want to see some proof of them working on deer without having to let it rott setup in a place for months to hunt out of it. I have tried using a blind and have had some deer really get spooky.

I wonder if ground blinds work better in different parts of the U.S. I know how deadly they can be on the turkeys. BRU

I've killed a few from ground blinds. I had a lot of deer spook on them until I started brushing them up. Deer DO NOT LIKE the black hole effect of open windows! Use the shoot thru fabric in the windows---turkeys could care less--I've had them look in the window.

yes i know all about these things you mentioned.

I am not going to argue what to do. I want to see some pics of some mature that have been taken out of a blind. it matters because of an argument i have had with a friend who throws the double bull crapola around about their show.

well yes they take deer all the time on double bull outdoors. The question is how long have they left these blinds out there?
a deer will get use to anything in the woods after they see it for 365 days. put a blind up and hunt out of it on the same day even with netting and all the brush in the world that ASPLUNDH can cut and a whitetail will jump out of their skin. I might be wrong. maybe just my badluck and poor setup but i want to see some pics of a good ole ******* bowhunter taking mature bucks and seeing lots of deer without spooking them.

I would love to be able to hunt out of a blind when its real windy or raining. the concept of the whole business of hunting out of a blind makes alot of sense but the deer will not cooperate at all where i have tried it. clearcuts in georgia 8 years old i thought was gonna be sweet. i had a double bull set up on a food plot for 5 monthes before hunting season and hunted out of it for most of the season just to see. nothing at all seen out of the blind. took the blind down on sunday morning and returned with a ladderstand on friday and killed a doe and saw 8 deer with it.

call it coincidence or not. sure does sound kinda fishy. BRU

Shot at 4 deer last yr hunting out of my ground blind.
And yes"" use the shoot thru nets on deer hunting, they will never know you are there.

Saw a bunch of deer out of my blind, it was set up 5 weeks before opening day of bow :-?
hey mark what kind of set up. woods or edge of a field. I always thought the edge of a field in some thick cover would work good.

did you wear a black top and a black headcover?

i have noticed this a lot in hunting shows when they were hunting deer thanks for the info

7bru, I shot my buck this year from a ground blind (Double Bull Matrix). I hunted hard for 2 months before getting this spiked buck. The area I was hunting didn't really produce anything else. The blind was on the edge of a field, in timber about 5 yards. Behind me 10 yards was a river. I saw the buck 300 yards away. He trotted to about 100 yards to my right, and he looked at the blind, then booked (full run) in front of me to the path into the woods and stopped broadside to me at 41 yards and looked directly at me. He definately knew I was there, but was curious before going into the woods ... his only mistake.

Under the right conditions I would do again, but after this experience I still prefer stands if given a choice.

thanks running. I have had the same experience myself except they never stopped for me. glad you got him. do you think he would have stopped if he was an 8 point 3 or 4 years old.
I say that but a spike might be older than you think. you think he was less than 2.5 years old?

I would rather hunt out of a stand any day. I set mine up a few weeks in advance. I started setting them up for my kids but ended up setting in them myself. I did arrow a 3/12 yr old last Nov in the rut. The area I had it was timbered yrs ago and is very thick---no trees to get up. Iwould never set one up in an open oak woods--never work!

I am definately no expert on judging deer's age. I was too exausted field dressing and then dragging him up a 20' creekbed that he went down in to look at teeth or better judge. My guess is that he was younger than 2.5 years.

He definately busted me, I know that for sure.

The cell picture is below.

yes i would have to agree with ya on the teeth. nice bow. looks familiar. 2 pc quiver user. that tells me you are a herd hunter just like me.

I appreciate the info. sure would be nice for the blinds to work on deer like they do on turkeys. the only reason i bought a blind was for the badwindy and hard rain days that i lose every year with limited time in the field. BRU
