I currently shoot a M word bow but it looks like im going to shoot the Cardiac. It seems to be a great bow and im wondering what you folks who have shot the Cardiac think about it compared to the Oh lets say, for kicks and giggles the Mathews Drenlin. Dont hold back just go ahead and tell me the truth about your opinion.

First, welcome to the forums.

Second, I am not going to bash any bow, you need to shoot them all and get the one that fits you best. Mathews makes great bows, Ross just make them better :)

I will tell you that I shot the Cardiac today and was very impressed to say the least. It is smooth, quiet and very fast. The bow only had a rest on it and I shot it a few times, very dead in the hand, no shock etc.

I expect it to be as great as the CR line bows and offer the people that purchase one great pleasure in what they have purchased.

Find your nearest dealer and ask him to shoot it. Then shoot the Dren next. I bet you come home with the Ross

Oh, I shot Mathews for a long time myself and I am a recent convert to the Ross world. The journey was worth it.

I own a CR337 Comp and today I got a CR334. I will get my Cardiac closer to hunting season.

My opinion

Well I can't compare it to the Drenalin because i didn't shoot one but I own a Cardiac. I love the ROSS bows and everything about the company. Mathews was never in the running when I was considering my purchase. The Cardiac is by far the best I have ever owned and I did have an Outback which is the only Mathews I have ever owned a few years ago. It was a piece of crap that never stayed tuned and the string may as well been yarn and strectched so bad the string was slipping past those nefty suppressors they put on there. I won't own another. My opinion only.

Shoot both bows. Just because I like the Ross line doesn't mean you will. At first you will probably dislike the ross grip if you are used to the Mathews. Once you become accustomed to the Ross grip you will probably come to love it. I know I do. Try them both out and I think you will end up with a Ross.

Welcome. :?

I shot the Drenalin, Cardiac, & Vectrix and ordered the Cardiac. For me, the combination of the draw cycle, feel, and speed was the best of the three. With that being said, shoot them both and then shoot them again. They're both nice bows.

Welcome JRat1.

I just when through the process of buying a new bow. Having owned a Switchback XT and CR334, I liked the Ross a bit more so I sold the XT to fund a new bow. The XT was a great bow, but the grip and the way the Ross grouped fit me better.

I looked at the Dren and Vectrix before picking the Cardiac (which I just got this afternoon ... pics to post later). The Dren was sweet, but again the feel of the Cardiac was to me, better. More personal preference than quantifiable reasons why.

Good luck on your search!

I have shot both and I will tell you the truth.
The Drenanlin was the first Mathews I have ever shot. I thought it felt like a tuning fork. It rang out in my hand for 5-6 seconds after the shot. I did not like the grip either.

I also shot the Cardiac at the same time. It was much quieter, and dead after the shot. I was not impressed with the actual speed of the Cardiac, but it was set at 60#, so not a fair assesment. After all was said and done, I kept my 331 and am happy with it.

I am not going to buy a bow that I havent spent some time with. The shop here only had one Cardiac, and now its gone. Dont know when they will be getting another. Shoot them both and buy what you like. You will still be welcome around here as long as you dont bash. For me it came down to no bows really being any more than last years offerings. I have a 331, a Trykon, and a ViperTec. I am holding out for next year to see if there is anything that is really set apart from anything else. I just didnt feel that was the case this year with any manufacturer.
