Hey guys! Im considering painting my bow and lookin for opinions and or recomendations. I know i will hurt the value of the bow but realistically my bow is a 2008 model so if/when i do decide to get rid of it, which most likely wont be anytime soon, my resale value probably isnt going to be too great anyway. Right now the bow is all realtree hardwoods camo. All my accessories are black. Im thinking of going all black, black riser and camo limbs or either od green or tan riser and black limbs. I like all those color schemes and am having a hard time picking one. What do you guys think looks good color wise? Any recomendations on a certain paint to use? I plan on tearing the whole bow down to eliminate most of the masking headache. Bow is a bowtech general if that really matters. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I mean this not the worst thing you can do to your bow. If you use high quality paint and are careful to the details, it might end up nicely. But if I were you, I would give it to a professional that would probably do the job better. I don’t know how expensive your bow is, that’s something you also need to take into account. Personally, I suck at anything crafted or handmade, so I wouldn’t trust myself with it. I remember when I hired the guys from Cheap Painting Services Singapore for House, HDB, Condo by Best Painter to paint the interior of my house and I was looking at them completely clueless. Thanks god they helped me with the painting situation.

Hello all, nice to see some chatter and assistance here today. For you new members, try to introduce yourself on the new members thread so we can all get introduced to one another.

As for this thread on painting ? I don't feel there is anything to lose on a 2008 model. I'd strip the bow down and take it all apart, and prep each piece, riser, limbs etc, cams if you decide to do them as well.

Once you break the bow down, you can decide if you prefer to have it professionally dipped,or maybe a simple rattle can spray ?

If your going to hunt with the bow, which I assume, not target shoot, you want a flat black non glare paint. You also might want to prime the parts as well before painting to get a better hold. Dimpling is actually fine because it curtains reflections.

If there is a textured flat black paint, i'd go with that.
