Me and the butcher set up our 3-d range in my backyard today. When all is said and done we have 40 targets to shoot. From groundhog to Elk and bison. We collect them every year from old targets from 3-d ranges around the area. We buy the patch kit from magic fix and now we have our own range. 135 more days till our elk hunt and I'll be ready. :) :)

Tobin, don't know how far it is. I live on the ohio side of WV about 30 miles from parkersburg. Jason anytime you want to come over and shoot come on out.

The range is going to be great. The sheep and ram and the mule deer are shooting uphill in some really good rock cliffs, just were they belong, we also have a mountian lion on a big log, and a bob cat standing way out on the end of a downed tree.
Lots of deer , some gators and black panther, turkeys, pigs, gemsbuck, coyote, groundhog, fox, elk, bison, and a few others, It is the best practice there ever was. I have shot at animals with much more confidence that ever before. I thank WVbownut for getting me into to it.

wvbownut; Parkersburg is about 3 hours from the house. I used to hunt in Grantsville a while back. Sounds like you guys are gonna have some good fun with the setup!

Don't have any pics yet. My son and his wife borrowed the camera and I won't get it back until this weekend. I'll put some on then.

Sorry guys i'll get his camera back to him tomorrow. I borrowed it for a Hank Jr and lynard Skynard concert. I haven't seen it yet but i'll be shooting tomorrow. I know they are used targets but you can't beat the practice it gives you. Tobin he might be closer to you than 3 hrs. He is in between Charleston and Parkersburg.

Sounds cool. :(
I plan on doing the same thing when I finally buy a home in Missouri.
If I don't actually build a 3D course for a business, I will at least have a good acre or two of a 3D range for my pleasure. :)

That would be pretty good to get some of us together. We could shoot the range at dad's house then go down to Cow Run Archery and shoot. Best Ross dealer in WV i think. There would be several of us there and there are always a few guys hanging around the bow shop. we need to work on a date.

Jason, we have all but 3 targets set. One night this week you need to come out and shoot. That way you know where the targets are set and you can shoot them anytime you want. We shot it today and it was alot of fun. Shots anywhere from 23-60 yards. Also have a excelsior bale set up with it marked off from 10 to 80 yards in 5 yard increments.
