I just returned from a bear hunt in Saskatchewan. This was my 5th time up, 2nd time hunting with the bow. Had a great trip, saw a lot of different bears, but the big ones, and color fazed bears didn't want to show up. 3 days in a row I had a sow w/ 2 little ones come in. On the 2nd day before I got to stand, one of those little buggers was up chewing on the seat of my lone wolf. Then that night, they came back in and I had to chase the one down from my tree. I held out till the last day looking for a big one, but then I decided to take the first one that came that last day. I just got into stand for the last time, got all my stuff together, strapped the release on, and sat down. I started playing the old hand held yatzee game. Must have rolled the dice twice, and I could hear something coming. I looked up and saw a bear heading my way. It was a young boar coming into the bait. He came in perfectly giving me a slightly quarting away shot that I place right behind the shoulder for a double lung hit. He made it about 70 yards and died just out of sight. This was my 2nd bear with the bow, and 1st animal taken with my new Ross CR334. Here are a few pictures of the bear I shot, and some of the mom w/ her 2 young ones.
