Ok gang just pick up a used STS tonight (15$) and was going to put it on my CR 37 and wanted to know how far from the string OR touching the string??????

barely touching the string so it absorbs string oscillation (vibration)

they also recommend serving the string at the area where it contacts the device. This is to help prolong life

I got my CSS from MeanV yesterday for the 337.
It's dead quiet now with no leftover vibes from the string.
Placed it just touching the area I served onto the string.
Replaced the leeches with bowjax II silencers. Work just as well and a lot lighter.

Ok set it up "just touching" BUT!!!! I was having trouble with it getting caught behing the bumper on the left side. I shoot right handed any ideas??? OH yea I took it off for the shoot today because of this, I shot a 590 27X on vagas face with 9/32 die. shafts!! WHAT A BOW!!!!!!!!!

Slide it over more to what ever side it is that is passes on; mine did that too.

I found for me and my CR334 that having the rubber bumper at about 3/16" or so off the string was the quietest.
