Id like to see what bow Kevin has used to set these records.... something like 195 pound draw weight! Any pics or details to this?

Well, there's a little rumor about an island.... and some talk of a K&K hunt involving Cordoni and even DOA has spoken of a group hunt to which Kevin said he wanted to be included. So one can only hope that with Kate's video camera and a little spare time once the 2011 bows are out, we might get to see and hear of some of the most incredible things that Mr. Strother has pulled off.

Hey, speaking of a K&K hunt. I just had five guys out to take some does (January is antlerless.) The conditions were so bad we had to use snow mobiles everywhere we went. We packed the bows in sleds behind the sleds and off we went. We, five guys, took nine deer in two days. It was the most incredible adventure ever. Slogging through snow drifts waist high, temps around 20 below, 25 mile per hour winds. It was the kind of hunt you'll laugh and smile about years and years later.

Anyway, my point, is I need to take alot more does off the property next year as well. (Unless this winter gets them.) Maybe we could put a K&K hunt together and compare bow speeds. :)

Check out pictures of the place here. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Full-Circ ... tos&ref=ts

I'm serious, I don't know who to talk to but we should do something. Kevin can bring his 240lb bow, shoot four deer at a time...

So, I think I must be the first person in history to cause a KS thread to stop. :)

I realized this morning that what I wrote could be misconstrued. I was not soliciting business. I was seeing if we (the people waiting on K&K bows) would like to put together a group to take some does. It wouldn't cost anything (well other then food, gas, license, etc.) I wasn't trying to get people to come pay to shoot at a buck. I thought it would be a great way to meet other people who clearly have a passion for bow hunting and help me out by thinning out the herd of deer that is mowing through all my pheasant food!!!

I hope that clarifies a bit.

I'd love to come shoot some does. I could care less about horns, I just love the meat.

I didn't think it was anything but an invite to take out some does with the new K & K bows......Sometimes I get caught up being "crazy stupid" on the other threads that I forget to cruise around and look at other threads......Wait, that's exactly how I got "Banned for Life"......

I'm pretty sure that Kevin said the bows he used to set the records were lost when left a certain bow company before he started elite. I think they were supposed to ship him his stuff, butt a lot of it mysteriously got lost. I may be completely off base, but I think that is how it was explained a couple of years ago.

We are in the middle of South Dakota about 45 minutes south of Aberdeen. Five hours from Minneapolis. I think it's too late this year to set something up, we don't have our bows yet and the season is over on Monday. But next year should work out great. Who's good an managing something like this? We can put them in charge. I can provide a place to stay and hundreds and hundreds of deer.

I'll post some pictures later. This last weekend, we got nine deer with five guys.

Have bow, will travel. Keep us all in the loop. Anyone that has ever been on the "SHORT BUS" is definitely in on any hunt if we can make things come together. ROAD TRIP!!!!!

This could be THE DAY!!!!!

Okay, I guess i'll host the ******* version at my place in Tennessee then for all the poor folks like me that can't drive 2000 miles or won't cross the Mason Dixon Line to shoot does. :D Y'all know I'd love to come its just too far for real.
Just more frosty cold beers and more gas in the 4 weeler ta get thar no biggin

I have guys that have come up from Tennessee every year for the last ten. It's a long drive, but well worth it. Maybe pheasant hunters are just a little more hard core then bow hunters down in Tennessee...

Now I know that this is a discussion involving Misfits and "SHORT BUS" riders but it's still a looooong stretch even for us to go from Kevin's old bows to deer hunts in SD & Tennessee! I'm not saying that it's not OK 'cause I want to be there BUT it is still just quite a stretch!!!!!!!

The bow I set the World Speed Record with was only 180# draw weight, shoot 588 fps. Have shot over 640 fps since then but not officially at a sanctioned event, the NAA is the sanctioning body, same organization that holds the Flight competitions.

The bow I set the World Regular FLight Record with was 195#, shooting a 14" arrow with razor blade fletchings, shot a distance of 1320 yards, 1 ft, and 3". You have to be online, they deduct distance for every degree, minute and second you are offline. They actually had to take the centerline pole down to measure a couple of my arrows, I was just a few seconds off of center.

That bow was smoking fast, about 640+ fps. Shot the bow 70 times, I didn't shoot   the last 2 arrows of my last end, I had the record, it was 120 degrees and I was getting tired. Didn't want to risk hurting myself just for fun!!!

Bare bow weighed over 10#, the riser was made of steel, the aluminum would break at over 185#.

Shoot thru riser with swivel grip on a independent arm, rest that actually drop down and the arrow comes up through the rest as you draw the bow. Built a bow with no cable rod in 1992, that was how I built the bow I set the flight record with, you don't want limb twist or side torque at 195#. :p :p

Things that are introduced as new ideas in the last 8years to present have been made for Flight bows since the 80's.

Thanks so much for the explanation, Kevin. Do you have any plans to go after a new record officially? If you did, would you use some of the old stuff or would you use some new creation? Thanks again for taking time out of your hectic/crazy schedule to play with us.
